What material do beginning students cover?

Beginning students can expect to learn the following: how to hold and use the pick; how to read Tablature; how to play single-note melodies; how to read music (standard notation); how to keep time; how to strum chords; as well as some fundamentals of music theory. In addition, beginners will learn the most common major scales in first position. They will also learn to accurately identify and reproduce pitch and to sing along with the songs they learn.
