How do I know if I’m at the intermediate level?

If you’re thinking of taking guitar lessons but aren’t sure if you’re at the beginner or intermediate level, ask yourself these questions:

1) Do I know quite a few chords? (major, minor, 7th, etc.)

2) Do I know how to play single note melody lines or improvise?

3) Can I read TAB?

4) Can I strum through an entire song using a rhythmic pattern?

5) Can I sing while strumming?

Although there’s always some grey area, answering yes to many or all of these questions would probably place you at the intermediate level. If you’re still not sure, set up a time to stop by and meet with me so I can evaluate your skill level.
